Facing Unmet Needs in Nebulized Therapies – The Journey of Kolibri

Nebulized drug delivery has advanced considerably over the past decades, yet significant challenges persist in ensuring efficient, reproducible, and patient-friendly therapies.
Uncontrolled aerosol deposition, variable breathing manoeuvres, and limited monitoring options continue to hinder precise pulmonary targeting—adding complexity to clinical development and impacting patient outcomes. Beyond the technical hurdles, usability and adherence remain critical factors in reducing disease burden for patients.
At PULMOTREE, we set out to address these unmet needs through the development of the Kolibri™ Mesh Nebulizer , a connected mesh nebulizer designed to optimize drug delivery from bench to bedside. Our approach includes tailored aerosol generation, inhalation guidance, and real-time monitoring, combining precision with an intuitive user experience. This poster, presented at the ISAM Congress 2023 in Saarbrucken, highlights the journey behind he Kolibri™ Mesh Nebulizer´s creation and its potential to transform nebulized therapies by aligning the needs of clinicians, researchers, and patients.
