🔎 A few takeaways from the OINDP Testing & Inhalation Analytics Technical Workshop in Mainz

The workshop was a great example of how collaboration across different areas of expertise can help move inhalation science forward.

🔬 Aerosol characterization: Paul Martin from Copley Scientific delivered an insightful presentation on aerosol characterization methods, with a focus on Delivered Dose and Next Generation Impactor (NGI) testing across pulmonary and nasal drug delivery.

🧪 OINDP testing laboratories: A&M STABTEST Labor für Analytik und Stabilitätsprüfung GmbH gave a comprehensive overview of the key considerations involved in establishing an OINDP testing laboratory, sharing valuable practical insights into the required setup and capabilities.

💡 New Approach Methodologies (NAMs): Vinit Pereira, PhD from ImmuONE explored how NAMs can help de-risk OINDP development by providing complementary insights to support decision-making. The presentation showed how new approaches beyond more traditional analytical methods can strenghten data for pulmonary and nasal drug development.

🦠 Our own contribution focused on the Inhaled Phages Project, presenting a collaborative proof-of-concept study demonstrating the feasibility of nebulising phages with the Kolibri™ Mesh Nebuliser.

We would like to thank A&M STABTEST Labor für Analytik und Stabilitätsprüfung GmbH for the excellent organization and generous hospitality in welcoming our team to their laboratory.
